Lecture sharing
On the afternoon of November 21st, Professor Marcel Sagesser discussed how to use technology and media to create a strong aesthetic experience for live performances, using the 2023 digital media live performance work "Diffuse Mediation" as an example.
The "diffuse mediation" mainly revolves around a series of media materials uploaded by the public, which are modified, processed, and remixed by artists, exploring how technology can change the meaning and beauty of the content in its continuous and repetitive debugging process.
Professor Marcel Sagesser shared the creative process of this performance, as well as the collection of materials in the early stages of creation and the technical processing of various types of digital sound and video. He demonstrated to the audience the real-time processing of audio through Ablenton Live and also showed how to use Max/MSP to map sound data to image changes.
