Course Overview:

As a foundational course for art and design students, Fundamentals of Modeling aims to develop a fundamental understanding of form expression, spatial construction, and creative thinking. Through this course, students acquire theoretical knowledge of modeling, enhance their shaping abilities, and cultivate aesthetic awareness and observational skills.

Course Content:

The course covers five key areas:

Creative Thinking – Encouraging students to develop and express their ideas independently.
Form Observation & Analysis – Moving beyond exam-oriented learning to build a structured system for observing, deconstructing, understanding, and applying various form characteristics.
Composition – Teaching the fundamental principles and techniques of visual structure and composition.
Color Perception & Application – Exploring color composition to enhance emotional expression and intuitive understanding of colors in design.
Visual Communication – Helping students translate their creative thoughts and spatial concepts into structured visual presentations.

The course supports diverse materials, media, and mixed techniques. Spanning nine weeks and structured into three progressive phases, the curriculum allows students to iteratively build upon their creative ideas. Through project-based learning and course presentations, students engage in a comprehensive practice, refining both their conceptual thinking and hands-on skills.
